I'm back!

Wow, it's been a few days again, huh? Sorry about that. We had a internet connection problem. It's fixed now. I have good news. I have a finished sock! Sorry if it's way obvious that I'm in love with this sock. I think I've taken about a billion pics of it. But I'm proud of it. Anyway, without the internet for the past few days, I've gotten quite a bit of knitting done. At least, that's how I feel... besides finishing the garden path sock, I got 6 rs rows done on Icarus. Which is a lot, since each row takes me almost a half hour. That's like, 6 hours lol. I also got some more done on the branching out, which I'm still loving, but I'm pretty much over it. Now, I'm going to distract you all from the fact that I get bored so easily with pictures. Here's the heel, just after I finished it. I was laughing because it looked like a toe...

There was a small hole on either side of the heel, but I fixed them. Here's the front of the sock at that point, on top of my socks. Go ahead Angie, laugh. Call me lazy.....

And here's the finished sock.

Look at that gorgeous heel. You know you want to see more of it.

Ok, all those pictures are true to color, but here's a better picture of the pattern.

I love love love it. In case you didn't know already, it's Wendy Johnson's Garden path socks. I did the smaller size and they're still a little bit big. Yarn is Socks that Rock Little bunny foo foo. I modified the pattern a little, in that I did the toe she shows how to do in her book, rather than the one she says to do in the patten; I did a short row heal, where she has you doing a slip stitch heel; and I did knit two, purl one ribbing instead of k1 p1... well, because I can. Just for Angie, here's the pic of how I hold my yarn.

And for everyone else, furry goodness.

I couldn't catch Storm. He's wild. But isn't Mattie so sweet?

Babysitting fun

Sorry it's been a few days. I've been busy. We had a girls night at my sister's on Saturday, and then on Sunday Richard came down and we hung out with him. Today we went to Emmy's sister's house and babysat for a couple hours. I love love love her baby Joshua. He's two months old... but he looks six months old lol. See?

I held him for a while and fed him, and a little while after he fell asleep I laid him down.

He's so sweet! He stayed right where I laid him... for like, almost 2 hours.

There's Emmy... playing outside with the kids.

There's Madyson, playing on the slide...

and in the toy box! She actually shut herself in there... Anyway, no knitting content because I haven't really done much knitting. I'm sure I'll have something tomorrow.

And she knits, too

That's right people. I actually DO knit and post pictures. Sometimes. I've been working on my garden path socks. Yes it's taking me a long time to make them. Yes, I just knit that slow. Get over it. (Yes Angie, you still have that one on me. You're so much faster than I am...) I LOVE the way it's striping. It's so perfect. Here's the back first.

And here's the front. Isn't it gorgeous?

Pretty much the only other thing I've been working on lately is that branching out scarf. I love love love love the colors in it.

Once again, that bright blue color is wrong, the rest are perfect. Hmm... mostly. They're the tiniest bit darker. Just a tiny bit though. And, a horrible puppy picture (I just can NOT get them to look at the camera... they ARE looking, but their heads are turned. What's up with that? I know I know, they're just being submissive but give it a rest already...)

Aren't they the cutest?

The good thing for today is my garden path socks. I love the pattern and it's very calming and easy to knit. Very relaxing. Very.

P.S. The other day, Richard said to me "Don't you get really impatient, knitting that? I mean it looks like it'd take a really long time." I told him "No no, see I don't knit to get stuff done. I do it cause I can."

Small Update

So, today Emmy's friend Richard, who she met at the Hanson concert a couple weeks ago, came over to hang out with him. He's super nice. He even bought her flowers. Here they are. Aren't they cute?

We went to see Mr. Woodcock, and I got like, 7 or 8 rounds done on the sock. That's not many, considering it's a 90 minute movie, but that was the first time I got any real knitting done during a movie theater movie. It was just my generic sock. I was smart enough to not grab one with a chart to follow. Then we came home, played some games, and then we went for a drive, just to do it. That was pretty fun. I'm super tired now though lol.

Best wishes to Isaac Hanson, who's in the hospital. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

Good thing for the day is new friends I guess. Pretty lame but... what can I say? :)

Damnit does not equal 32!

So earlier, Angie was making a chart for Branching Out, which has a chart but we didn't like the way it looked, cause it was too hard to read. So anyway, she was making the key, and without thinking she put "O = yo" and it changed it to "O = 32" and she was like, "damn it, doesn't equal 32..." to herself and I started laughing, because I didn't know what she was talking about over the phone, and so I told her that was my new thing. "Damn it does not equal 32!!"

Speaking of Branching out, I have almost a foot done unstretched. Wanna see it? Too bad, you're gonna.

The bright blue isn't nearly that bright, but all the other colors look right. Weird... Here's the progress on my "Little Bunny Garden Path" socks.

Aren't they awesome? I love them. My happy thing for today is my puppy Storm. He knows that I'm not doing good (because of the cold I guess...) and he's always right there. See? Ok... maybe not... he knows I want to take his picture and now he won't sit still... aha! Got him. Now... if only the computer would behave... aha! Ok, now the much coveted semi-crappy picture of Storm!

Today was much better

Today was a much better day. Except, ya know, for the cold and stuff. I went to my mom's house and spent some time with my dad. I also went shopping with my mom, and she helped me buy a new outfit. It's jeans and a green shirt. I'll get my picture in them Wednesday probably. I only got a little knitting done because while I was playing dominoes with my dad I was going to work on my sock, but I accidentally left a dpn in my friend's car. Good thing for the day? New clothes that fit, of course!

Bad day

So today started out great. But it went downhill fast this evening. Dave and I had a fight and... I'm just not feeling good, and my ear is killing me. So it just sucked. But I got some sws today and I cast on for Branching Out for a Christmas gift. Here's a picture.

And here's what my Garden path socks look like now.

So pretty. But all the pink is on the bottom so far lol. Here's my husband, being a dork when he was cutting his hair.

Like his hair? And here's Emmy with Mattie being all loving. So sweet... the dog, not Emmy lol.

Here's a better picture of my sweet girl. Again, Mattie not Emmy.

Wow... creepy eyes Mattie. Creepy creepy. But so cute, isn't she? Ok, I don't really have a happy thing today, so for my happy thing, go here. Ok... she hasn't added it yet... but it's pictures of my best friend's new niece, Olivia. She's so cute...
