Seriously short post

Wow, I was just messing with my blog and realized I haven't posted in almost a month, so I thought I'd post something. Not much is new... oh, yeah, that's a HUGE lie. Everything is new. For starters, I got a new job. I'm working part time at Kohl's, at the Jewelery counter. It's fun. It's easy work... but my feet kill me after a few hours. I'm just not used to standing up all day long. It's painful. My heels and the balls of my feet hurt worse. Surprisingly, not my ankle though. And yesterday I turned wrong and hurt my hip. And I have a cold. That's all the complaining, I promise. :)

Anyway, I finished Dublin Bay sock number one. I have serious second sock syndrome though. I tried to deny it. I even cast on the second sock. It might not be as bad as I feared until I get past the heel though. I mean, I haven't worked on anything but stockinette stitch forever so it's almost FUN to do knit one purl one. I just have to keep telling myself that.

The only other wip I have right now is the Party Scarf from Magknits. I'm doing it in baby alpaca with silver beads on the end. It's Pretty... but the baby alpaca is so hard to work with. I usually don't have the patience for it.

I'm also working on a Care Bear (Share bear actually) cross stitch for Emmy. She asked me to help her with it, but I'm afraid she either won't be able to do it (not that I think she's not smart enough, but she probably doesn't have the patience for it) or she just won't want to and I wanted to finish it, to surprise her. *frown* I wonder if she reads this blog... hmm... anyway. That's all I've got going on at this time, but I'm hoping to start this tank top I saw in my Creative Knitting magazine soon. It's cotton, and it's very cute. Anyway, that's all for now!

Time for some pics!!!

Ok, this post is hideously picture heavy. Beware. :)

This first picture is my first ever sock... ok, the first bunch of pictures is my first ever sock.

More of my first sock.

This is my first sock right before the toes...

My first sock in the wash...

And on! But it's just a little too small...

Ok, the last picture of it. Ta da!!! It's a complete sock!!!

Ok, enough with "Broadripple." Here's my socks that rock, Lucy colorway.

I was about to wind it there. Now here it is in the "Dublin Bay" pattern.

Here is my wip box, and lots of yarn...

Some cotton yarn I got at a thrift store...

My baby alpaca... and my Anniversary Flowers...

Some FO's, including my very fist project, my harry potter dobby hat, my dishcloth, my "Calorimetry", and one "Fetching"

My branching out stole that is about to die...

And a close up of my very first fetching.

Here is the purse that shall not be named.

And, just for good measure... Becky and Zachary.

Just two more pictures. I promise. If you'll go back to my very first post, you'll see the wodds behind my apartment, in the winter. Here it is in the spring. It's a rain forest!!

Random Tuesday

Yep, I'm stealing so many other bloggers idea. I really don't have anything specific to blog about, so I thought I'd just lay it all on you. Let's see...

1) I finished my first ever sock. It's really cool... I mean, it looks just like a real sock, not silly like some knitted socks I've seen. I really love it... except it's too small. I thought it would grow in the wash, and it did, but not quit enough. It's just too tight over my ankle. I think it's the lace pattern, made the stitches a little tight. Pictures coming soon (In about 15 pictures... that's how many are on the camera.) Anyway, It looks soooo awesome, but I'm not gonna make another. I mean, I'm going to make another sock, I'm addicted now. But not another broadripple. I really like the way the pattern goes, but it's too much thought for a sock. I couldn't even take it to the movies cause I had to think about the pattern too much and the dark would've messed me up. I have enough of that yarn to do different socks, and I'm trying to find a good pattern... the problem is that the yarn isn't stretchy enough. So I'm working on it.

2) In the meantime, I've started the Dublin Bay socks, with my "Socks that rock" in the Lucy color. (That's a pdf file, in case you have dial-up or something...) I've done the ribbing and two repeats of the pattern, but I had to change it, because the gauge was 9.5 stitches per inch, and I was getting 8... and instead of going up a needle size, I just added 6 stitches to the pattern and adjusted it.

3) Still working on the stole. Let's not speak of it.

4) Same rule applies to the purse. If it's not a sock I'm not interested.

Actually, I was thinking about the purse... I should've done it in the round, I probably would've finished it by now if I had. Hmm... redo? Maybe. We'll see.

Anyway, that's all the fiber news, except I bought some black sock yarn for when Angie sends me my Kroy that she bought me. I'm really excited about it :)

What's new with life... well the Braves are in first place, and I'm talking to Emmy again. That's about it :)

Wooohooo!!

In case you haven't heard, I'm starting to work out. Basically, I'm walking on the treadmill with the help of a close, unpaid friend who's coaching me. Apparently, I'm a fast grower. Yesterday I had to work really hard to make it to 40 minutes. My goal is to soon be walking an hour a day, 5 days a week. I'm not gonna do weekends till I'm in better shape, cause I have this weird fear of having people stare at me while I'm at the gym, and there are more people there on the weekends. Anyway, today, I was almost to the forty minute mark when I started to listen to "fighter" by Christina Aguilara (er... however that's spelled...) and instead of applying it to some PERSON who hurt me, I applied it to my body. For example, she says "After all the of the... cheating you probably think that I hold resentment for you" which is, I would think, how my head would feel about my body. And she says she's gonna work harder... which made me keep going. I walked for 50 minutes, 2 miles, and the only problem was that last... minute or so my foot started to hurt. I'm so proud of myself! And, hopefully, my friend will continue to coach me because I couldn't get motivate without him. (I hope you feel better, Mr. Unnamed, now that I've mentioned you in my blog.)

Venting session

Ok, you know how on the movie "Mean Girls" her one friend is "too gay to function"? Well, I am stealing that line, only I'm changing it to too stupid to function. That's David. You all know my husband? Errrr he's so annoyingly stupid, I don't even know how he SURVIVED before he met me. He doesn't THINK he just speaks and then he doesn't even understand that he did something wrong. How stupid can one person be?? Ok, here's the scoop. He wants to move halfway between my family and his. First of all, there is NOTHING halfway. Nothing. No hospitals, no... anything. And then he said he wants to be closer to his parents because they're old and he doesn't want to have to drive 3 hours if something happens to one of them. Which is... ya know, I understand that. But he doesn't get it. When we lived up there I was MISERABLE. So miserable, in fact, that in the week after we got married I found a friend on the internet and almost cheated on Dave with him. So miserable that I cried about 3 times a day. Then, I start going to school and making friends and being happy again and he freaking LOST HIS JOB and we had to move back. But the point is... the whole time we were there we saw his family the EXACT SAME NUMBER OF TIMES that we see them now. Whereas now, I see my family at least twice a week. Is it fair for him to take me away from them again? I mean, it's not. But apparently me saying that is being selfish because it's unfair for him to live so far away from his family! I mean, what the hell is his freaking deal???????? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......... okay, I feel better now lol

Wow it's been a while...

Ok, so I'm a slacker. I know I know. I need to blog more. Well, he's the scoop since we last talked. I finished another pair of Knitty's fetching, for Misti's birthday. I changed the pattern so that cables wen't all the way up the back of the hand, and I took 5 stitches out so they'd fit her. Um... I'm still working on the flower purse. Sorta. Ok, so it's in my box and hasn't been touched in weeks. So sue me. Anyway, I'm making "Branching out" but I've changed the pattern. Of course. I'm making it into a stole instead of a shawl, and I'm doing three pattern repeats... it'll be neat. I'm using my "sws" for it, so I'm excited about it. I'm also doing my first pair of socks! I'm using opal "feelings" sock yarn, and I'm doing "Broadripple" also from knitty. Um... I'm also working on detangling my yarn that I dyed, so I can make a hat. It may be untangled by Christmas lol. That's about it. Well, back to my braves!
